  • SCR511: I voted Yes, the motion passed 114-0.
  • HB 366: Under Miss. law, electric power associations (EPAs) are defined as “nonprofit corporations” with the mission of making electric energy available at the lowest cost consistent with sound economy and prudent management of the business of such corporations. This bill is inconsistent with that model insofar as EPAs do not have expertise in providing broadband and are pursuing a business model heavily dependent upon federal subsidies. It seems inevitable that this plan will open the door for a ratepayer and state taxpayer bailout. I voted No, the motion passed 115-3.
