HB 1

  • Appropriation; Department of Education for additional funding for teachers’ salaries.
  • This is a deficit appropriation of $18 million to fully fund last year’s teacher pay raise. Approximately 9,000 teachers were not included in the original MDE calculation. While this fulfills an obligation the state made, it still increases the size of government.
  • I voted No, the motion passed 121 – 1.
