Mailing a CHECK to the guy who called Bitcoin worthless

I’m driving to FedEx to mail a check to someone who needs money fast who previously told me Bitcoin has no value and they don’t want to use it. Now, here’s the quick story. So, I had this long discussion with somebody who was like, “Bitcoin has no value. We don’t need it. The US dollar’s fine. Bitcoin has no purpose. Blah blah blah. It’s going to zero. It’s, you know, blah.” You know, all the usual critiques. Okay. So I have that whole discussion and you know they’re not they are not open to considering that Bitcoin has value. So a couple weeks go by and I always this invoice to this person on some services they did for me. Okay. So out of the blue uh previously they’ve asked for wire transfers which is fine. I mean it’s a pain but sure whatever. And this time they’re like, “Hey, actually, I need money fast and um you know, I need to be able to cash a check and can you go to FedEx and send me a check for this money?” And it’s somebody that lives a long way away on the other side of the country. And um anyway, which which is just interesting to me. Immediately my brain is thinking, wait, this is the person who told me Bitcoin has no value. And out of the blue, they need to be paid quickly and they need a check. And they’re sending me this email with instructions where it’s like, hey, you know, you got to send the check and you got to send it to my house so that I have time to go to the bank and then I it needs to clear in my bank by the time I do this. And so you’re going to have to mail the check and you’re going to have to mail it in if Tuesday if you mail it on Monday. But if you’re going to have to mail it overnight if you mail it on Tuesday and the check needs to be made out to here and to there. And I’m like, literally all of the things that Bitcoin fixes are tied up on all this one little story, which is with Bitcoin. So almost everybody in my ecosystem, I pay with Bitcoin. Almost everybody. It’s the rare consultant or somebody that just doesn’t take Bitcoin. They don’t believe in it. They don’t want it. And they don’t think it has value. And then I have to jump through all these hoops to try to get them money because of course they think Bitcoin has no value versus everyone else I pay. Everyone else I pay in my ecosystem, they either send me a Bitcoin link and they have Bitcoin a few seconds later, or they send me a Lightning invoice and they have Bitcoin a few seconds later, or they send me an an invoice and I send them a River link and they have Bitcoin a few seconds later. Like, everybody I pay in my ecosystem gets paid within a few seconds. Yet, the people in my ecosystem that claim that Bitcoin has no value, that we don’t need it, it doesn’t serve a purpose, blah blah blah, are the exact same people that I end up jumping through all these hoops with because I need to mail a check and it has to be FedEx and it has to be delivered by 10:30 a.m. And if I deliver it this day, it’s got to be two-day. And if I deliver it this other day, it’s got to be overnight. and all the all these people who don’t take Bitcoin and don’t think it has value make me jump through all of these hoops to pay them because, you know, for whatever reason they can’t use Vinmo and Cash App and blah blah. I mean, on and on and on. It’s just ridiculous. Anyway, Bitcoin has a clear fundamental purpose, which is I can send value. I can pay invoices. I can move money anywhere in the world in a matter of seconds to absolutely anyone. And it’s not going to get rejected like a wire transfer. And the check does not have to go in a stupid FedEx envelope. And I don’t have to pay shipping on overnight shipping. Like all of this stuff is just stupid relics of a past age that is gone and done and no longer relevant and we should all just be on Bitcoin where you can pay anyone instantly for anything anywhere in the world in any currency. Like you should just bypass all this insanity. So anyway, I thought it was an interesting little story this morning and I figured, hey, why not do a quick video about it? So there you go. The people who claim Bitcoin don’t doesn’t have value are the same people who make me jump through a bunch of hoops to pay them, which is I don’t know why people just don’t realize the extraordinary irony of that. It’s kind of funny.
