NRA Awards Joel Bomgar Highest AQ Rating

Bomgar supports Second Amendment rights

Madison, Miss. (July 9, 2015) – The National Rifle Association Political Victory Fund (NRA-PVF) awarded House of Representative District 58 candidate Joel Bomgar an AQ rating. An “AQ” is reserved for a pro-gun candidate whose rating is based on pro-gun responses to the NRA-PVF Candidate Questionnaire and is the highest rating a candidate can receive without a voting record on Second Amendment issues.

“As a longtime supporter of gun rights and lifetime member of the NRA, I’m honored and humbled to receive this rating from the NRA,” said Bomgar. “I believe that the Second Amendment is the bedrock of our free society. As a father and a husband, I personally understand the importance of self-defense. I will always stand up to defend our right to bear arms.”

Tara Reilly Mica, NRA State Liaison, said, “On behalf of our members in Mississippi House District 58, the National Rifle Association Political Victory Fund is proud to announce Joel Bomgar’s AQ Rating for the Republican primary.”

Bomgar’s AQ rating was shared with all NRA members prior to the August primary election.  He will oppose any legislation that would place restrictions on American gun owners.
